𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 — 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁!

On August 1st, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh chaired a review meeting on the iGOT Karmayogi platform with senior officials from the Department of Fisheries. The agenda: accelerating structured digital training across the fisheries sector.

Progress so far:
100 percent onboarding at the headquarters level
85 percent onboarding in subordinate offices (expected to complete soon)
Active use of the iGOT platform for learning, feedback, and performance tracking

Key points from the meeting:
Expansion of course modules with a focus on aquaculture and fisheries operations
Monthly internal knowledge-sharing sessions to be institutionalized
Improvements suggested for mobile usability
Hybrid training models (online and offline) to be considered for practical content
Future course design to include input from exporters, cooperatives, and enterprises

Why this matters:
Structured training is becoming central to how the fisheries sector builds capacity. The goal is to create a workforce that is responsive, well-informed, and ready to meet the sector’s evolving challenges.

This marks a shift toward a more capable, digitally enabled fisheries administration
