Abdul Rahaman Ilyas, an advisor to the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) of Egypt, has announced plans for a focused collaboration between Egypt and the government of Andhra Pradesh, India, particularly in the field of aquaculture. This collaboration aims to enhance cooperation not only in aquaculture but also in pharmaceuticals, drone technology, and commodities.
Egypt, known for its world-leading aquaculture farms covering approximately 8,000 hectares, is keen to introduce Vannemi shrimp farming using Biofloc technology. Ilyas highlighted the challenges faced by Egypt in this sector, presenting an opportunity for exporters from Andhra Pradesh to engage in Business-to-Business (B2B) collaboration. Discussions are underway regarding potential joint ventures and pilot programs, with ASRT leading the initiatives.
