- Banned Drugs and Chemicals in Hatchery
- Health Management and Criteria for Selection of Quality Shrimp Seed
- Role of Probiotics, Phagebiotics, and Immunostimulants in Shrimp Hatchery
- Packing & Transport and Regulations for Shrimp Hatchery
Practical Sessions:
- Analysis of Water Quality Parameters
- Anatomy of the Shrimp
- Microbiology: Isolation and Confirmation of Pathogenic Bacteria through Biochemical Tests

Hands-on Shrimp Hatchery Training:
Stay at the Hatchery (75 Days):
- Understanding the Layout and Various Sections of a Shrimp Hatchery
- Involvement in Water Intake System, Supply, and Treatment of Sea Water
- Brood Stock Management, Spawning, and Hatching
- Live Feed Production (Diatoms & Artemia)
- Frozen and Artificial Diet Supply
- Water Quality Management and Water Exchange
- Aeration and Larval Rearing
- Health and Stock Assessment
- Acclimatisation to the Water Quality of the Shrimp Farm
- Harvesting of Post-Larvae, Packing, and Transport of the Seed
Eligibility of Candidates:
- Educational Qualifications:
- BSc/BFSc or MSc/MFSc candidates in Zoology, Fisheries, Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Marine Bio-Technology, Coastal Aquaculture, Micro-Biology
- Industry Sponsored Candidates:
- Educational qualifications are relaxed for those with at least 1 year of relevant experience and understanding of English. Final selection is at the discretion of ASDC.
Certificate:
- Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate by Andhra University & Avanti Foundation.
- Discontinued candidates will not receive a certificate.
Scope:
- Certificate holders will have enhanced employment opportunities in Shrimp Hatcheries.
Course Fees:
- Students: Rs 15,000
- Industry Sponsored: Rs 25,000
Facilities Provided:
- ASDC arranges breakfast, working lunch, tea & snacks, and dormitory accommodation for the initial 15 days.
- Accommodation and other facilities for the remaining 75 days will be managed by the allocated shrimp hatchery operator.
