Training Information: Two-Day Hands-on Training Programme on PCR and Its Application in Aquaculture Genetics Research

Objective:
The main objective of this short-term training programme is to provide hands-on training on basic molecular markers. The ultimate goal is to develop trained personnel capable of utilizing these techniques to resolve challenges in aquaculture and fisheries management.
About RGCA:
The Central Aquaculture Genetics Laboratory (CAGL) of RGCA is a well-equipped facility and the first and only aquaculture genetics laboratory in India accredited by NABL as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Programme Highlights:
- Types of molecular markers and their application
- Tissue sample collection from aquaculture species
- DNA extraction from collected samples
- Quality determination of extracted DNA through Agarose Gel electrophoresis
- DNA amplification (PCR) with mtDNA or nuclear Gene specific markers
- Data analysis
(Around 80% of the training will involve hands-on practical exercises)
Registration Details:
- Fee: Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two thousand only). This includes course material (protocol handouts), a training certificate, and tea & snacks for the entire training period. Travel, boarding, lodging, and other personal expenses are not included.
