The Cochin Shipyard Marine Engineering Training Institute celebrated a significant milestone with the passing-out ceremony of its 50th batch of graduate marine engineers. The event took place on Friday at the institute’s campus, marking a proud moment for the trainees, faculty, and the marine engineering community.

Suresh Parameswara Kurup, Managing Director of Synergy Oceanic Private Limited, honored the occasion as the chief guest. His presence added inspiration and prestige to the event. Representatives from the Cochin Shipyard management, various shipping companies, and the faculty members also attended the ceremony, emphasizing the collaborative effort in nurturing marine engineering talent, as stated in an official release.

The highlight of the event was the announcement that all 40 marine engineers of the graduating batch had secured placements in leading shipping companies, showcasing the institute’s commitment to delivering industry-ready professionals.

The institute also revealed details of its upcoming batch, set to commence on January 1, 2025. The new intake will include 40 trainees, all of whom will benefit from 100% sponsorship provided by renowned shipping companies, underscoring the strong industry ties and trust in the institute’s training programs.

This ceremony reflects the institute’s longstanding dedication to excellence in marine engineering education, shaping skilled professionals for the shipping industry.
