Global aquafeed leader, Skretting, has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with Zooca Calanus, a key player in sustainable marine ingredients. The partnership aims to revolutionize nutritional solutions for the aquaculture industry by tapping into Zooca Calanus’ expertise in harvesting and processing Calanus finmarchicus, a nutrient-rich small marine copepod.
Hassan Skoien, Skretting’s Director of Shrimp Innovation, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to embark on this journey with Zooca Calanus. Building on over 10 years of prior collaboration, Skretting and Zooca Calanus will work together to develop high-quality feeds enriched with Calanus-based ingredients and whole canned copepods. These nutritional solutions aim to enhance the health and growth of cultured aquatic species while promoting sustainability within the aquaculture sector.
The collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to improving the performance of LifeStart species in a sustainable and responsible manner.
