DBT SPONSORED FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON BIOTECHNOLOGY & BIOINFORMATICS

The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura, is organizing a DBT-Sponsored Faculty Development Programme on “Application of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics in Fisheries & Life Sciences” from 6th to 21st January 2025. This prestigious programme is funded under the DBT-NER Advanced Level Institutional Biotech Hub Phase-II by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

This 16-day intensive training is aimed at refreshing and enhancing participants’ skills in molecular and bioinformatics techniques crucial for fisheries and life science research.

The programme will include both theoretical lectures and practical hands-on sessions, delivered by eminent faculty members and guest experts. Topics such as molecular biology techniques, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, statistical analysis in biology, RNA sequencing, fish disease management, and bioinformatics applications will be covered. Participants will also benefit from field exposure visits during the training.

Who Can Apply?
Participants holding the rank of Asst. Professor/Scientist/SMS or equivalent and above.

• Notification of Selection: 3rd January 2025.

Participants are required to fill out an application form and email it to the Course Director by the deadline.

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

Selected participants will be reimbursed to-and-fro travel costs (limited to AC III-tier train fare or bus fare) as per CAU guidelines. Accommodation and meals will be provided free of cost at the College Guest House.

The College of Fisheries, Lembucherra, is located approximately 10 km from Agartala City, 17 km from Agartala Railway Station, and 15 km from Agartala Airport. It is easily accessible by rail, road, and air.
