
The ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research (DCFR), Bhimtal, is set to host the prestigious ICAR-Winter School on “Innovations in Aquaculture” from January 21 to February 10, 2025. Sponsored by the Agricultural Education Division of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, this program aims to empower researchers and educators in the field of aquaculture.

The initiative underscores the growing importance of aquaculture as a critical food production system. In 2022, India produced 10.24 million tonnes of aquaculture products, contributing 65% of the nation’s total aquatic animal production.
Eligibility and Registration
The program is open to scientists, assistant professors, and extension specialists from ICAR institutes, State Agricultural Universities, and other government-affiliated organizations. Participation is limited to 25 candidates, selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interested candidates must register via the Capacity Building Programme (CBP) portal (https://cbp.icar.gov.in/) by December 27, 2024. A nominal fee of ₹50 is required, payable via demand draft or digital transfer.

Venue and Accommodation
The program will be held at ICAR-DCFR, Bhimtal. Participants will be provided shared accommodation and meals as per ICAR norms. Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to AC-II tier rail fare.
