Skill Development Programme on Fish and Shrimp Feed Production -Technology for Enhancing Aquaculture Production

COCHIN

Aquaculture production in India has shown significant growth with an annual increase of 8-10%. However, a major challenge in this sector is the availability of quality feed, which is crucial for fish and shrimp farming. The high cost of commercial feed is often prohibitive, especially for marginal fish farmers, who contribute 80-90% of the country's aquaculture production. This training program aims to equip entrepreneurs and farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to produce their own cost-effective, nutritionally balanced feed using locally available ingredients. This will not only reduce production costs but also enhance profitability and sustainability in aquaculture practices.
